5 Minute Spring Cleaning

Today we're going to tackle spring cleaning to feel less stressed in 5 minutes.

Studies prove that keeping our environment tidy improves our health and wellness.

In fact, researchers have found that women who described their homes as cluttered expressed higher levels of the stress hormone, cortisol!

When the energy around us is cluttered and unorganized, we feel more stressed, unfocused, confused, anxious and even depressed.

In Chinese medicine, we know that blocks in our energy can slow down our movement and make us feel off balance, indecisive and unable to move forward.

But spring cleaning can feel so overwhelming in our busy lives!

The simple solution?

Tidy up.

Take 5 minutes today to tidy up your space.

Set a timer. This is not a marathon.

Don't stress over it or try to tackle the whole house or an entire room.

This is 5 minutes to less stress and more wellness.

Choose the easiest place to start. Maybe it's within arm's reach. The coffee table in front of you. The nightstand next to you. The surface of your desk. Your car where you spend half of your day commuting. The laundry basket. That counter in the kitchen.

5 minutes of a simple tidy up and BAM. Suddenly, you've freed up more energy, created space to breathe, and now you can see things clearly.

It's the perfect way to set the stage for springing into spring.

I decided to take 5 minutes to tidy up my desk. Take a look:

Now it's your turn. How did you spend your 5 minutes of wellness today?
