Belt it Out

What if I told you that you could significantly improve your immune response, strengthen your lungs and diaphragm, improve your sleep, sharpen your memory, kick depression to the curb and more -- just by doing this little "exercise" in the shower, at church or in the car?

Got 5 minutes?

Today, you're going to give yourself the gift of your own sexy self care, and it's only going to take 5 minutes.

Here's how you're going to do it:

You don't even need to set a timer for this one. Just sing your favorite song.

For 5 minutes, you're going to belt it out.

Sometimes, we just need to sing at the top of our lungs.

Singing has amazing health benefits;) The simple act of singing can strengthen our immune system, increase our aerobic capacity, oxygenate our blood, reduce stress, lift depression, improve our posture, alleviate anxiety, increase our mental alertness, memory and concentration, and might even help reduce snoring and sleep apnea!

And this instant anti-depressant is free. All it takes is your willingness to belt out a song.

Because it just feels damn good.

Singing has even more benefits when we use our voice alongside others. Read more here.

Yes, singing is sexy self care! Sing in the shower, when you're stuck in traffic, in the kitchen, with your kids, at church, when you're cleaning toilets or when you're mowing the lawn. Sing your heart out. There is always an opportunity to sing.

This week, try to give yourself at least 5 minutes of sexy self care every day. 5 minutes of doing nothing. 5 minutes of getting grounded. Take a walk, a strut or a stroll. Breathe. Belt it out. You choose. Make it an intention and do your best. You're worth 5 minutes of your own attention.

Next week, I'll give you another inspiration for 5 minutes of wellness that you can easily incorporate into your busy life. If you've got 5 minutes, you've got time for sexy self care. I'm gonna show you how. And you're gonna feel better -- I promise.

Remember, there's nothing more badass than taking care of yourself.

Share with me your favorite time to sing. Mine is when I'm alone in the car with the music turned WAY up....or when I'm in the coop with my sexy chicks;) How about you?
