Particulate Matter (PM) can be dangerous for anyone when smoke is in the air. PM are very small and can penetrate lung tissue easily.
Here's a few super simple tips from The Scarlet Sage to help keep your indoor air cleaner and healthier:
Smoke dries out the air, yet, moisture is one of the best ways to attach to PM making it heavier, allowing to fall to the ground.
So, if you don't have a HEPA air purifier, increasing the moisture levels inside and keeping our floors clean are also super simple ways for us to improve the quality of our indoor air, and still roll like a goddess.
Things you can do at home without buying a fancy HEPA air purifier:
Steam water on the stove (boil, then put on low, but don’t forget its on!) Add herbs like bay leaf, rosemary, lavender, etc., if you have them. Oh yes, girl 🙋🏻♀️
Use an aromatherapy diffuser
Shower regularly (and moisten the skin daily)
Vacuum with a HEPA filter vacuum.
Clean floors regularly.
Keep windows and doors closed as much as possible.
