More Hugs

You know it. I'm a hugger.

Hugs are meaningful when they're heartfelt. And, hugs keep us healthy.

Got a few seconds?

Today, you're going to give yourself the gift of self care, and it's not even gonna take 5 minutes.

Here's how you're going to do it:

Find the opportunity for a heartfelt hug. As many as possible today.

Hug More.

Even research shows that hugging has therapeutic mental and physical health benefits. A study from Carnegie Mellon University showed that healthy adults who got hugs were less likely to come down with a cold. Others prove that a hug can help cure a bad mood, decrease pain, improve our performance levels, enhance honest communication and build trust.

We know it. Physical touch and human connection are essential to our health and wellness. Hugging and friendly physical touch instantly increases our self esteem, our happy hormones, like oxytocin and serotonin....and connects us to our ability to self-love.

And, hugs are free. All it takes is our willingness to reach out.

Virginia Satir, a respected family therapist, puts it this way:

“We need four hugs a day for survival. We need eight hugs a day for maintenance. We need twelve hugs a day for growth.”

Hug someone for no reason today - just to show you care. You can even hug your dog. Cuddle your cat. Find the opportunity to give and receive more hugs to feel happier, healthier, more connected and fed socially.

Hug More.

Try to give yourself a few minutes of sexy self care every day. 5 minutes of doing nothing. 5 minutes of getting grounded. 5 minutes to strut it out. More hugs. Make it an intention and do your best. Self care is the ultimate form of self love.

Share with me how many hugs you found the opportunity to give and receive today. Virtual hugs count....and here's one from me;)
