What do you do ... when you can't sleep? 😴

Updated: May 6, 2020

Oh, girl. Really? Can't sleep, huh? A lot of us are having extra trouble sleeping these days. It's no wonder. Most of us have trouble sleeping from time to time ... but losing sleep night after night is no joke.

Lack of sleep will wreak havoc on physical, emotional and energetic health.

It also accelerates the aging process. 😯

Oh, hell no.

Luckily, you've got a sister who's got your back. Insomnia is not sexy, sweetheart, so let's talk about a few super simple ways you can get your zzz's and restore your health, energy and sparkle:

Create a comforting night-time ritual. This is how a goddess winds down before bed... she takes a little time out to calm her energy and prepare for a restful night's sleep. Goddesses don't hustle until the lights go out or work long into the night, skimping on beauty rest. Even a few minutes of peaceful intention before bed go a long way in helping us a to unwind and signal our bodies that it is time to get some Zzz's. Take a bath ... anoint yourself or your pillow soothing essential oils like lavender, chamomile or a beautiful blend like Catch the Dream from Ancient Wisdom Essential Oils ... stretch ... journal and write out all of your worries ... unplug ... meditate or pray ... Do whatever feels natural to you to soften your energy, wind down and allow yourself to nurture your inner goddess and get some freaking sleep.

Keep your room dark and cool. We sleep best in a cool, dark room. Any light can interfere with our bodies natural ability to produce melatonin, creating a disruption in sleep patterns and not allowing us to get the deep sleep we need. Keep your room as dark as possible, and for goodness sakes, turn off your devices or put them on airplane mode. Keeping your feet warm also helps us to fall asleep easier. Just remember: Cool, dark room, warm feet. 😉

Try to go to bed at the same time every night. When we go to bed and rise each morning at the same time, this actually comforts our nervous system. Our body knows to anticipate sleep and we tend to fall asleep easier and wake up less often during the night.

Exercise early. Be sure you are allowing yourself time to blow off steam during the day, so you are not carrying all of that tension to bed with you. Need some support and encouragement? Join me for some Kitchen Fitness!!

Rub this point. This is THE point for soothing our heart energy, excessive worry and anxiety. It calms our spirit and allows a goddess to sleep. Press, tap or rub with the pointy end of your favorite crystal. Zzzzzzz... 😴

There's a crystal for that ... get stoned with amethyst. Yes! You know this one. Amethyst is essential to keep in your self-care tool kit. It's healing, calming energy helps relieve stress and irritability, eases mood swings, softens anger, soothes fear, quiets anxiety and helps us to connect to spirit. Worry starts to melt. Dreams become sweeter. Serious magic. Try it. You have nothing to lose. See more here.
